Adopted by the U.S. Navy into their standard uniform during WWII, the chambray shirt is a workwear staple. Known for being lightweight and utilitarian, chambray shirts are woven with a plain weave often with indigo dyed yarns. Buzz Rickson’s version is a reproduction of a 1950s era chambray, with gussets on both sides of the hem, a collar stand, and a separated front placket. This fabric is woven with loose tension giving it a textured look that will age beautifully with wear and wash.
